I read that today newspapers tell once again something which puts dark veils on Silvio Berlusconi’s name.

Some of these media reveal that police associates the pseudonym Caesar, present in the wiretapping on the new P3 secret lodge, to our Prime Minister.

Moreover, if Berlusconi is involved, who would he have been if not Caesar?

Come on.

If Silvio is implicated, who else could be behind this Caesar, mentioned as the leader?

Moreover, I also have evidence that Berlusconi is Caesar!

The Story:

Berlusconi is Caesar.

In De Bello Gallico Caesar wrote: "Men willingly believe what they want to be true."

Come on, it’s him!

PDL is falling down and PD alternative is: too many immigrants in Italy

I think that recent days Berlusconi’s People of Freedom image has become shabby and shameful to the most strong of his supporters too.

He will never admit it in public and in the style of his loved leader he will point out all the usual plot of the communist judiciary.

However, I am convinced that within himself, perhaps in the evening when he’ll put the light off before going to sleep, will have a very clear perception of what kind of people he voted.

This morning I read about ten thousand pages of documents on a true lodge, a secret business committee created for rule the State, a sort of P3.

Through these investigations, after the name of the usual Denis Verdini, we have the other habitué Marcello Dell'Utri and the Economy Undersecretary Nicholas Cosentino.

While the news that Berlusconi has asked foreign ambassadors he met to bring beautiful girls in Italy makes the usual tour of the world, this is my question: if the PDL is literally falling down, what does Democratic Party?

The Story:

Once upon a time there was a country we can call Italy.

I could also say Spain; do not think I’m obsessed.

But try to understand me: I talk about what I care most.

According to many newspapers, the most exciting moment of the ceremony that preceded yesterday's final of the soccer World Cup was the short tour of the court by Nelson Mandela.
Once the small electric car appeared around the whole stadium jumped.
Only five minutes.

That's a privilege of those men whose history speaks for them, getting an ocean of respect and admiration from everybody.

The truth is that people would stand up in front of men like Mandela without them too.
I’m talking about men that world history, among other things, defines as leaders.
It’s said that every country has the government it deserves.
Well, similarly, every People (of freedom) have got their leader.
And the vice versa is also true…

This man has been twenty-seven years in prison to defend his ideas…

This one is ready to sell them at any price to not go even a minute at a trial…

This man in 1993 was awarded with the Nobel Peace Prize and that was the most undisputed award in the human history…

Italian Media Strike against Berlusconi gag law chance for questioning itself

Today is a special day for Italian journalists.

The National Italian Press Federation announced for July 9 2010 a silent strike to protest against Berlusconi Government wiretapping bill.

Here's how the federation press release starts: “The Italian journalists are called to a unique form of protest that is expressed in a "noisy" silence information on Friday 9 July, against the rules of wiretapping bill that severely limited the right of citizens to learn how the judicial investigations proceed, inflicting major disruption on the free circuit of the news.”

The initiative has received massive adhesion, almost complete.

I will not enter the diatribe on strike and no strike.

Besides, if I say no, even if also with Marco Travaglio, I risk of being in agreement with Berlusconi Newspaper’s director Feltri, and I get hives just to think about it.

More or less spontaneous laughs followed.

I did not laugh.

Even today, I think there is nothing to laugh at.

Now I want to speak to that journalist, who obviously will never read this article.

I wonder if you still work for La Repubblica, the same newspaper that is a promoter of the strike.

Strikes are important for a myriad of reasons.

One of these is that, extraordinarily coming out from the routine of daily work, you have the valuable opportunity to reflect on your work.

Even and especially what goes beyond the reasons of the strike itself.

For example, the meaning of what you do.

As mentioned in the preface, I did not become a journalist.

It happened for many reasons, but certainly one of them is that I never tried to find recommendation of someone to get something.

L’Aquila earthquake victims protest and the lies of Berlusconi Newspaper

Yesterday in Rome we had yet another demonstration of what kind of country we have become.

The Committee 3e32, L'Aquila coordination network, had organized a manifestation in July 7, 2010, to bring to the streets the following demands: We first ask for the suspension of all taxes and charges, the freezing of loans and a series measures to support employment and the economy.

I also read on the site of the promoters that there was great participation, by local and national organizations.

Associations, political parties, committees, companies, municipalities and institutions like the University of L'Aquila and the Archbishopric.

Like most of you know, the procession was stopped by the police.

Consequently we saw another clash between officers and protesters, with three persons wounded.

The news was obviously on the front pages of all media.

As always, every newspaper tends to give a personal version of the facts.

The absolute objectivity does not exist, we all agree.

But there is a limit beyond which that personal becomes personal a lie…

The Story:

Once upon a time there was the editor of a newspaper.

Let’s imagine that he’s the director of a biased newspaper.

Anyways, this is bullshit.

All newspapers are biased.

So, let’s figure that our protagonist is the director of one of them.

Let us also that the newspaper belongs to the family of Prime Minister.

Add that, like all of the newspapers, it takes money from the State - which means the citizens – to live.

Now, let’s imagine that a large group of people, let’s say about five thousand, went the streets to protest against the government led by Prime Minister, whose family owns this newspaper, going behind one of the residences of the Premier.

Think that during the event there some avoidable accidents happen and three people are wounded.

Now, dream to be in the place of that newspaper’s editor.

He cannot ignore the news, indeed, he should not.

How can he tell it?

In one way, he has no alternative.

First, he must blame the accident to one of the main leaders of the manifestation:

The mayor of Pd uses 5 thousand people from Abruzzo as human shields and sends them to clash with the police. That was an irresponsible attitude that not even the noblest of causes could justify.

Second, he have to show that the demonstrators had already been satisfied:

L’Aquila Taxes: delay of 10 years. Recovery of not paid taxes by L’Aquila citizens for the suspension ordered by the earthquake will be carried out in 120 monthly installments from January 2011. This was announced by the Secretary to the Prime Minister Gianni Letta.

Third, he must divide the demonstrators, emphasizing those who think the opposite way:

Money rain on the highway and the crisis is over

Yesterday afternoon a cash truck rolled over on A14 motorway between Foggia and Cerignola.

Two million euros in coins came out.

But this is not the news.

That's what seems happened after.

Apparently, all motorists get hands down to the money.

I read that at least ten thousand euros disappeared.

Let’s figure that the lucky - because, being honest, many of us consider this event as a gift of destiny... – persons was thirty, or better still fifty, just to say a lot.

It’s a theft, I agree, but in times of crisis, everything is relative.

The Story:

Everything happened within a day.

It was the 6th of July 2010.

Someone called it the Italian miracle.

I am talking about an extraordinary event, an exceptional, unique and unrepeatable chain of events that in a few hours gave joy and not only to millions of people.

Life is unfair, you know, but sometimes it goes on vacation or to the toilet to do its business, as you prefer, the fact is that in those moments things can go differently.

I was there.

I mean, I was not everywhere, because we I’m speaking about multiple events, but one of these I witnessed with my own eyes.

But I will tell you of this in the end.

The newspapers have told you of lucky motorists near Foggia who encountered two million euros.

That was only the prelude.

The real party came the next day, from north to south.

In the province of Milan, at the time of entry to one of the many factories that surround the city of job, the workers who were preparing to begin the grind daily saw falling on their heads a thunderous rain of hundred euro banknotes, falling down from a sudden hole in the hold of a private plane.

I am referring to one of the many private planes that pass overhead normally sharing much worse rain on the poor people.

Not even an hour later, in a square in Rome, a crowd of unemployed citizens publicly express their unacceptable condition heard an unusual noise.

An explosion, you might think, the usual bomb that always damages the protesters rather than protested.

No bomb, this time.

Life is unfair but, as I said, that day it was paused.

The noise that the so-called troublemakers heard was produced by the simultaneous going out of money from all ATMs in the square.

The mad holes vomited all their richness and it was no longer theirs.

Perhaps it had never been.

But the most amazing event we had in Sicily.

Here there was a really bang.

Indeed, calling it a bang is highly restrictive.

It was a huge roar.

And within seconds the entire island turned its eyes towards Etna.

The volcano erupted, but no lava got out.

The lava doesn’t have that shiny dark yellow color.

That was gold, gold molten, hot gold molten.

In short, an endless sea of people arrived at the volcano and heedless of the earth shocks and the heat drew in that wonderful river.

Soon the news spread all over Italy and caravans of cars, buses and every kind of transport arrive to drink in the miraculous source of wealth.

Northern and Southerner people, all citizens who did not manage to get to the end of the month landed in Sicily to enjoy the gifts of the volcano.

What about the Sicilians?

They showed immense generosity and shared the gold with everybody.

Life is unfair and I know that these days only happen once in a… life, just when it is distracted.

Or when people find the courage to unite and drive it out to finally bring some justice.

Well, this is where I personally was.

In these days we may read that, during his visit to Brazil, Silvio Berlusconi has found time to spend with six lap dancers.

Yeah, it’s not just for entertainment.

In my humble opinion, it never did.

If you think that ARPANET, the precursor of internet, was born as defense project and counterintelligence service of the U.S. government, you may see how much it’s not just for fun.

Anyway high-speed Internet for all is a very important decision for a nation.

It means guaranteeing all citizens a fundamental tool of free information and especially sharing of the latter.

That’s the sign of a healthy democracy.

Why in Italy is it not possible?

The Story:

Once upon a time there was a country that we can call Italy.

Indeed, it is Italy.

This time I don’t want to play, because I perfectly know that Internet is not just entertainment.

And because press freedom is not only to allow newspapers to receive funding from the government, parties and banks, and then take to the streets to demonstrate against the gag law (legge bavaglio).

Press freedom is above all that every citizen of that country called Italy, that is, all Italians, have the right to found a newspaper and share information even without the help of the government, parties and banks.

The truth is that the country called Italy, that is Italy, is not a real country.

It is not a true nation.

It once was the national soccer team’s nation, but after Lippi, it’s not even that.

Italy is a theatre show.

It’s a film.

Or it’s a soap opera.

No, it’s a reality show.

What matters is being there.

What matters is having a part, a recognized by viewers role.

The story, is always the same, at least since forty years, more or less the age of this blog’s writer.

The story of the clichés that everybody knows and everybody slams: the government is all a magna magna (‘eat eat’ in roman dialect), the politicians are corrupt and go with whores, priests in Rome have both villas and palaces, merchants don’t pay taxes, USA command in Italy, and so on.

That’s the story of philistine platitudes worthy of the useless citizen.

However, to be part of the theatre show, film, soap opera, reality show, you need a character that follows the script.

Do the bad ones make no liberty and ad personam laws, take bribes, receive gift villas from very generous priests, do business with banks and shady characters?

Well, the good ones are those that live show their outrage, protest tore their clothes in front of the TV cameras, offering their brave face to the national channels or newspapers.

Unless they are also caught promoting no liberty and ad personam laws, taking bribes, receiving gift villas from very generous priests and doing business with banks and shady characters.

If not between them there are heroes, myths of civil society, without blemish and fear champions.

Courageous writers, actors, journalists, all engaged in fighting evil.

And where do they fight evil?

They do on national networks, books by national publishers and newspapers with minimum national visibility.

No matter who and how give the money.

What matters is being there.

Otherwise, how do the fuck all, without exception, may buy villa with garden, beach house, plasma TV and super car?!

That's why in Italy there is no legal right to broadband for all.

Because otherwise, so many characters, heroes and stars, good or bad, should look for a real job...
